"The right tools matter, but having someone show you how to use them made all the difference for me."
Desteny did everything you're supposed to do. A prelicensing course through Excel. Exam prep through Mike Russ. Hours and hours of studying.
Three attempts at the California P&C exam. Three misses.
That's the part nobody tells you: effort isn't the problem for most students. Direction is. You can study a ton and still have no idea what to fix.

Attempt Four, Still Solo
Desteny found Great Test Academy and started with our standalone test prep. New tools, same approach: doing it all on her own, taking random practice tests over and over.
She'd tell you herself that she knew she probably wasn't ready. She took attempt four anyway. Missed again.
The tools were there. The plan wasn't.
THE PLAN
That's when Desteny upgraded to Ready Pass and walked into the GTA Study Center.
We sat down together, looked at where she was actually struggling, and built a real study plan. Chapter by chapter through our AI exam prep, staying on one section until her scores improved before moving to the next.
No more random practice tests. Every quiz had a job to do.
THE ROOM MATTERS
There was one more thing the Study Center gave her that no app can: other students.
In the group sessions, students trade advice, tips, and strategies you won't find studying alone at your kitchen table. Desteny credits that room with keeping her motivated, and she gave back as much as she got.
If you've been grinding solo, this is the part you're missing.
Desteny's Actual Progress
Every dark bar represents a full State Simulation percentage score. Blue bars represent the quizzes and drills she used to attack weak areas between simulations.
Instead of wondering whether she was improving, Desteny could actually see her progress.
EVERY QUIZ HAD A JOB
Her first full State Simulation came in at 65. Then 69, 67, 71. Slow, honest progress. Then the jump: 78, 81.
And about those 39s in the chart: some of those blue bars are retry-missed drills, quizzes built only from questions she'd already gotten wrong. They're supposed to be brutal. Scoring 100 on one means a weak spot got closed for good.
That's what a plan looks like in the data. Not a straight line up. A line that keeps going.

DESTENY'S MESSAGE TO FUTURE STUDENTS
"If you've failed this exam, or you're studying a ton without actually improving, come here."
Failing this exam doesn't mean you can't pass it. It usually means you're studying without knowing what to fix. Desteny had three prep companies' worth of material. What finally worked was a plan, a room, and someone to point at the exact thing to work on next.

Desteny B.
I used Excel for my prelicensing course and Mike Russ for exam prep, but after failing my Property & Casualty exam three times, I knew I needed something different. I found Great Test Academy and started with their standalone test prep.
At first, I was still trying to do everything on my own. I knew I probably wasn’t ready, but I decided to take the exam again anyway and ended up failing for the fourth time. That’s when I decided to upgrade to Ready Pass so I could come into the GTA Study Center, get in-person help, and study with others in a group setting.
Being around other people was another factor that I strongly believe helped me pass. During the study sessions, other students were able to share advice, tips, and strategies that I may not have learned on my own. Having that support system and being able to study alongside others really helped me stay motivated and better prepared for the exam.
Gareth sat down with me, looked at where I was struggling, and helped me build an actual study plan instead of just taking random practice tests over and over. We used GTA's AI exam prep chapter by chapter, staying on one section until my scores improved before moving to the next. Finally seeing exactly where I was weak and what to work on made a huge difference.
On my fifth try, I finally passed my P&C exam, and GTA is what got me there. If you've failed this exam, or you're studying a ton without actually improving, come here. The right tools matter, but having someone show you how to use them made all the difference for me. I am extremely grateful and thankful for GTA!

Desteny, watching you finally get that PASS was awesome! You kept going after four unsuccessful attempts, and once we slowed everything down, identified the weak areas, and built a plan around them, you put in the work and your scores started showing it.
I’m especially glad you mentioned the other students in the Study Center. That group environment has become such an important part of what we do, and you were just as much a part of it for everyone else as they were for you.
Congratulations on earning your P&C license. You absolutely earned this one.
Thank you for the amazing review and for being part of GTA!
